The Esmerk Business Analysts

Esmerk offers one major difference to our clients, the fact that the industry news items and reports are compiled by people not computers. The Esmerk production staff are based in 7 offices around the world; searching, selecting and translating business news so our clients don't have to. The service Esmerk provides is focused on meeting your requirements for business-critical information whilst saving time and resources in the process.

Esmerk employs over 150 multi-lingual analysts, many of whom have had extensive experience living or studying in different countries. The majority are graduates; some speak several languages, with a business or media background or possess research degree skills. Above all, we look for good team players, people with enquiring minds, the ability to think laterally, an eye for detail and an interest in current affairs.

On joining Esmerk, analysts embark on an intensive training programme to familiarise them with our broad-based approach to the information gathering process. As part of this, they learn how to recognise business-critical information, and how to write a concise, informative abstract, using correct business English. Some may specialise in coverage of a particular country, others specialise in particular sectors, and some do both for example the Polish rail sector, the Spanish logistics industry or UK marketing and media.

On a day-to-day basis, Esmerk analysts will be reading published sources from over 140 countries to find industry news that matters to our clients. They will be looking at daily newspapers, online sources, trade press and press releases, selecting relevant business information, and writing abstracts in English. In doing this, they may be the first to spot that vital business lead or emerging industry trend, helping our clients to stay ahead of the competition.

150 people searching 140 countries make many happy clients.
